LARRY SCHULTE
New York City artist Schulte was a mathematician before he was an artist. He began with landscape, evolved to abstraction of landscape, then added a mathematical structure to the mix:. The Fibonacci Sequence consists of numbers 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, . . where the next number is the sum of the two preceding numbers. This pattern of numbers is seen throughout nature. Eventually this structure became primary in his work.

Larry's pieces in this show are silkscreen prints (serigraphs). Traditionally, screen prints are used to create multiples of the same image (editions).
Larry, however, uses the technique to create one-of-a-kind prints that have layers of the same patterns, but printed in different colors and sequences.
