Principe's oil paintings capture the classic beauty of flowers closely observed. An avid gardener, she raises the orchids and most of her other floral “models”. This affinity with her subject contributes to the special spark in her work.
She is best known for her elegant signature orchid paintings.
Her popular miniatures are remarkable in their detail and perspective. She also paints medium and large canvases. Principe's paintings are reminiscent of the American painter, Martin Johnson Heade.
