Born in Chicago, Corkery’s work captures the joy of simple life—piano lessons, a walk in the woods. Painting from his daily life, local landscapes, and sites from his travels, his wife and children are often his subjects and their home and yard are comfortable settings for many of his creations. His soft presentation of life is rich with imagery that we can all relate to. His larger works are oil on canvas, but his smaller works are often oil on panel.
